We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our Client’s team. In this role you will be reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. Our

progression. Salary for this position is $50,000- $65,000 based on level of industry exposure. Our Client is an advocate for diversity

  • Full cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties
  • Recording transactions, posting accruals, accounts payable, completion of bank reconciliations and reconciling inter-company
  • Process accounts payable transactions which includes: preparing batch invoices for data entry, managing semi-monthly cheque
    run, preparing vendor cheques for mailing,  maintaing vendor files, reconciling vendor statements, researching and correcting
  • Prepare CAM/tax recoveries and reconciliations on properties containing between 1 to 5 tenants
  • Review and generate monthly billings for tenants
  • Liaise with property management to prepare annual budgets and reforecasts
  • Oversee lease setup and create recovery models for newly acquired properties
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports as well as monthly variance analysis
  • Assist with year-end audit process and quarterly reviews
  • Actively communicate with the property management team pertaining to daily operations
  • Minimum three years of experience in a Commercial Real Estate or Leasing Accounting environment
  • Completed or is working towards completion of a Professional Accounting Certification
  • Advanced level MS Excel and MS Word skills are a must with a solid working knowledge of Accounting software (MRI or JDE)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team oriented
  • Excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment and enjoy new challenges
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure, highly motivated to achieve results
  • Bright and analytical, able to solve problems and make decisions using logical processes
